Baler: More Than Just Surfing - The Day Tour

Baler is very much known as a surfing haven. Lots of people really travel for almost 6 hours just to enjoy the huge waves of the Pacific Ocean. But there are lots of things hidden in this sanctuary of nature and history.

This blog - "Baler: More Than Just Surfing" - will be in a series to highlight the different places and spots this province could bring us.

First in this series is the Day Tour. Touring Baler is not a hassle. From the terminal there are already lots of tricycle which offers a standard of eight hundred pesos (800.00) per tricycle good for 3 people for the whole day. The city tour includes the following: Baler Church, Donya Aurora House, Museo De Baler, Hanging Bridge, Ermita Hill, Diguisit Beach, Aniao Islet and Diguisit Falls in the morning.

Baler Church

Donya Aurora House

This is President Quezon's presidential car.

Museo De Baler house different artifacts from Baler the movie memorabilia to paintings and
others that played a lot of roles to Baler's history.

This scuplture is called "Tromba Marina". It depicts the struggle of the family getting up Ermta Hill to be saved from a tsunami in the 1700s.

Last stop for the day tour (after our Ditumabo Falls experince) is this more than 600 year old balete tree, in Maria Aurora proper.

You can actually get inside the Balete Tree.

TIP:

If you could, try to get the 12:00 midnight or 1:00 AM bus schedule from Genesis Transport. Their terminal is in Cubao along EDSA. With this travel time, you will be able to be in Baler around 7:00 AM. Now you have all the time to tour and visit everything Baler has to offer.
